Something weird happened near Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Ghosiana, Uttar Pradesh, India some days ago. It was the attack of a goat by a giant python and its escape following the intervention of a group of villagers in the area.

The python wanted to have lunch so it attacked the black goat. Usually, pythons, cobras and other kinds of garden snakes come out in their numbers during this period—the Monsoon season. The goat and the snake were in a fight for about 40 minutes.
The goat was able to escape when one of the villagers hit the python with a heavy tree branch. Other stone throws must have also weakened it before it finally surrendered. The snake ran into a nearby bush after the goat ran away.
