Top Drug Lord named 18 Policemen and 1 PDEA Agent involved in drug matrix

Top Drug Lord Franz Sabalones of Central Visayas has revealed names of 18 Policemen and 1 PDEA Agent as among those who benefitted from his weekly payola. The PNP Internal Affairs Service is planning to investigate the said personalities to verify the said drug matrix.

The PNP Internal Affairs Service is continuously investigating cases of police involvement in illegal drug transactions. According to IAS Deputy Inspector General PCSUPT Leo Angelo Leuterio, aside from the 83 additional names they received from the previous batch of Narco Police who surrendered, an additional 18 from the drug matrix of Drug Lord Franz Sabalones have been named.


PCSUPT Leo Angelo Leuterio says “We are still validating their level of involvement but obviously they are involved in drugs trade.”

Based on the matrix provided by Sabalones to UNTV, he was giving a weekly budget of about P507,000 as payola or protection money from the ranks of Police Officer to Police Senior Superintendent. Sabalones alleged that the said Policemen regularly receive from P1,000 to P150,000 weekly as protection money.

The money is usually delivered through Sabalones’ Bagman particularly his cook, his colleagues at the gym, in billiard and sometimes his neighbors. Leuterio says the policemen mentioned will face appropriate charges should they be proven involved in illegal drugs.

PCSUPT Leo Angelo Leuterio says “We will file cases against this people or even we will recommend that orders will be issued putting them under the police holding and admin unit and removing them in their places of assignment.”

Meanwhile, CIDG Director PCSUPT. Roel Obusan that they already sent notices to the policement mentioned in the matrix for them to submit their affidavits in the coming days.
